October 1, 2025 Rockport Black Drum and Speckled Trout Half-Day Trip
I welcomed Carol Sedlacek and two other anglers aboard for a half-day morning trip on October 1. After a quick introduction at the dock, we got underway and started making the most of their time on Rockport Bay.
The group brought a great attitude, and we had fun throughout the morning. Black drum and speckled trout were part of the catch, and the photos show plenty of smiles from the boat all the way back to the dock.

A two-species morning gives guests different kinds of bay-fishing action. Speckled trout and black drum behave differently, so staying flexible and reading the water helps us make the most of the four-hour trip window.

I want every trip to begin on the right note. That means greeting the group, getting everyone comfortable, answering questions, and leaving the dock ready to fish. Carol appreciated that we were able to get underway right away and use our time well.
Once we are on the water, I handle the boat, gear, bait, and positioning while helping each guest as much—or as little—as they need. Some anglers want step-by-step instruction. Others are comfortable fishing independently and only need a little help along the way.
Carol said she would recommend me to anglers of any skill level. That is important to me because a good charter should feel welcoming whether it is your first time on Rockport Bay or you have been fishing for years.

What This Means For Anglers
You do not need a certain amount of experience to enjoy a guided fishing trip with me. I welcome beginners, experienced anglers, couples, families, and groups of friends. I provide the boat, rods, reels, tackle, bait, and personal help needed for the day.
