September 10, 2026 Rockport Redfish, Flounder and Black Drum Full-Day Trip
A weather concern delayed our departure by 30 minutes, and the fishing started slowly. Tom Davenport and his fellow angler stuck with it, and we turned their full-day trip into a great day on the water.
We moved when we weren’t catching keepers or were only catching bait thieves. As the day went on, the fishing improved. Tom reported catching lots of fish, including plenty of keepers to take home. The reported catch included redfish, flounder and black drum.

Captain Blake’s Notes
The slow start called for adjustments. When a spot wasn’t producing the fish we were looking for, we moved and kept fishing. Having a full day gave us time to work through that early stretch and find better action.
I’m glad Tom and his guest enjoyed the day and went home with fish for the table.
Guest FEEDBACK
Tom gave the trip a verified five-star review. He appreciated that we kept moving until we found fish and said he would come back to fish with me again.
“The day started slow, but Capt Blake was on it and put us on the fish.” — Tom Davenport
A fishing trip doesn’t always start fast. This one finished with a variety of catches, plenty of keepers and two anglers who had a great day.
What This Means For Anglers
Tom’s trip shows the value of staying flexible. A 30-minute departure delay and a slow bite didn’t define the day. We moved when a spot wasn’t producing, and the anglers finished with redfish, flounder, black drum and plenty of keepers to take home.
